It took me a while, but I finally realized that much of what happens in court is literally just the judge’s opinion. In most cases, there is simply no objective “truth” that can be found in the law. This is even more true when there is no shared culture.
Thanks for your post. You are absolutely correct. A trial judge has tremendous power. For example, she determines which witnesses are "experts," and only experts can state an opinion. In the john Eastman disbarment trial, there were probably 10 witnesses who were entirely blocked from testifying. For the most part, the witnesses who were allowed to testify were not considered (by the judge) to be "experts." I was one of those, even though I had written a book on the 2020 election, had published over 25 articles on the election, and was authorized by the AICPA to perform peer reviews of other audit firms (all types) for decades. I did about 1,000 of those, but the judge was not impressed. She acted as if she knew more about elections and auditing than I did. It was kangaroo court.
Thanks, Alex. I was careful to be very factual, in an effort to avoid getting sued. Almost all of my articles on substack are also published elsewhere - but not this one. Publishers are afraid of sue-happy Coomer and Dominion. They say they won't publish anything that includes the word, "Dominion." So much for freedom of the press.
Good piece, Joe! I've been following the Coomer story since hearing it back in Nov. 2020 from the JO interview with Michele Malkin. Coomer is pure EVIL!
I once had a friend who used the term "college idiot" to describe people with credentials purporting to prove their intelligence, but totally failed to display any at all in the real world. Coomer would appear to be the poster child for that phenom. Sad.

Did you ever read the book “The Experts Speak”? Pretty amusing.
Thanks for the recommendation. I will check it out.
Wow what a deranged POS.
Good article Joe!

Thanks, Mike. Coomer should crawl under a rock, but instead he files lawsuits against anyone who criticizes. Hopefull, I won't be on his target list.

Yes, it is sad. A college diploma is becoming a sign of stupidity.
