Thanks Alex for an astute observation. Yes, I did notice the reference to Social Security but the reference was within a quotation, and I didn't want to alter it. In the article I do NOT include Social Security in my calculation of federal welfare benefits that could be construed to be reparations. My estimation is simply based on Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.
