Let's not forget the J6'ers that died while incarcerated, and I believe a few of them committed suicide because of the loss of freedom and loss of hope to be released. That was the most despicable result of the leftist lawfare against anyone who questioned the 2020 election rightfully so.
Thanks for that informative comparison, Joe. Yes, it is disturbing that the non-violent J6 "trespassers" were punished far more harshly than the violent leftist "George Floyd" rioters a few months earlier. The double standard is alarming. It was political intimidation by the Biden DOJ, plain and simple -- something you might expect from China or North Korea, not the US. And at the same time, Kamala Harris was raising funds to bail out violent leftist rioters.
"...only four individuals were arrested... Those people served zero days in prison and received no formal criminal sentences. I can’t provide examples of prosecutions because there are so few. "
You might consider adding that per Grok today the J6 numbers are
"Total charged/arrested: ~1,575 (NPR) to ~1,583 (DOJ references). apps.npr.org +1
Your readers don't need to be convinced, there are two standards of justice in this country- one for the Democrat adjacent, and a different standard of justice for all the rest of us.
I've been complaining about the glacial pace of Republicans in cleaning house. The Republican version of the show-trial Jan 6 Congressional committee plods along with little to show for it.
What has Patel done to clean house? What has he done to identify FBI wrong-doers who committed misdeeds in the past?
I'm looking for examples like the FBI agent who texted an informant to destroy evidence by deleting incriminating text messages (a felony BTW). The ones who showed up at the homes of people implicated in Jan 6 demonstrations - people who had never before been arrested much less convicted - and the FBI makes a big show of arriving with SWAT teams w/ assault rifles and armored vehicles, dragging people out of their homes in their pajamas. The ones who tipped off CNN of a raid on Roger Stones' home so they'd capture the scene and air it on television. The ones who picked up Hunter Biden's hard drive from the computer shop, were told what it contained, and then let it sit in a safe unexamined for a year-and-a-half.
Does Patel have a full accounting of the part the FBI and it's informants played in the Jan 6 demonstrations? If he does, I'm not aware of it.
I could write examples like these 'til sundown. The people that did these things will continue to undermine Patel and the guy who hired him, subverting what we elected Trump to do.
I've written in other forums, Patel should do a mandatory written survey of his agents, with pointed questions, asking what they know, and what they have heard through rumor and hearsay, about past FBI misdeeds. The surveys should be attested to and signed. Yes, maybe some will lie. If they do, it's a felony to lie to the FBI. He should make sure they're so informed.
Maybe the experts in this field know a different, better way to uncover the past crimes and misdeeds done by people on the FBI payroll. Maybe they've done it and don't want to talk about it publicly.
Thanks for your comment, Mr. Incarnate. I agree but have some sympahy for Patel and his subordinates. There is only so much time in the day and they have been busy handling many cases.
You mention nothing about the many left wing government operatives that were in the crowd posing as protesters. In fact you are incorrect about the attacks and injuries perpetrated by these individuals. You should actually do some research, retract your statement, revise and resubmit.
Thanks for your comment, Lorraine. Can you be a bit more specific? In what way am I "incorrect about the attacks," and what would you have me retracdt?
The article was focused on a particular aspect of the two events, comparing the law enforcement responses. It was not intended to be an overview of the J6 event. I agree that some of the violence at the J6 event may have been perpetrated and instigated by government agents, but that possibility was not the subject of this particular article.
I would love to see another analysis by Joe or anyone else of the prosecution of the violent J6 rioters. Were they punished as severely as the nonviolent "trespassers", or were some of them let off the hook? That would be very interesting to see.
Yes, Russ. Lorraine is correct about government instigators, but it was not my intent to cover that in this article. I also published this in the American Thinker, where they ask authors to limit to 1200 words. If the author goes too far beyond that, the article is rejected.

You are right, Jerry. There really are far too many examples to fit in one article. I hope GOP senators don't try to kill this effort at restitution.

Thanks for your comment, Russ. I had forgotten that Kamala was encouraging the rioters!
Wonderful work, as usual Joe.
You say of the 2020 White House riots:
"...only four individuals were arrested... Those people served zero days in prison and received no formal criminal sentences. I can’t provide examples of prosecutions because there are so few. "

Pleaded guilty: ~1,021–1,030. en.wikipedia.org
Convicted at trial: ~249–250 (with only 2 full acquittals reported)."
As you point out, the WH riots lasted 4 days and injured slightly more Police.

But I seriously doubt it.
